Updates for Week 1 of Spring Quarter 2006!

Leadership Applications
The Leadership Team is underway in reviewing applications for positions for this coming year at Rose!  If you haven't turned them in yet... HURRY!  Please get them in ASAP.  We do still need people for positions!

Friday Night Service Activity (3-10-06)
This Firday night we'll be doing an extended time of prayer.  The time is from 6-8 o'clock.  I am unsure of the place right now, so come to Large Group and listen to find out!

ULTIMATE!!!!!!
Come play Ultimate Frisbee on the IV team!  We only had 9 this last week, and it was rough.  We lost last week's game, 5-15.  We play on Tuesdays.  Contact Mike Goril ( gorilmj@rose-hulman.edu ) for more information and to receive e-mails for when we're playing!

Daily Prayer Meetings!
Every weekday, from 4:30-5pm, we have DPMs!  Meet at the couches outside the ARA, and we go to one of the rooms in the Union or wherever the leader decides.  This week (tonight) Victor Aboh will be passing around the signup for spring quarter sign-ups to lead DPMs.  If you can't/didn't make it, then contact Victor ( abohv@rose-hulman.edu ) and ask him about it!

I think that's it for now.  We, of course, have Small Groups and Large Groups on Tuesday and Thursday nights, respectively.  Small Group times vary by place (usually 8 or 9pm), and Large Groups are from 7-8:30 or so in there.

Let's give this a try?

Well, as per a wonderful idea via Charli, we're going to maybe try and post announcements for IV so people can check out what's up, since many people read Xangas pretty regularly or read them to "waste time" as it can be so affectionatly put .

Announcements:

CFW:
Chapter Focus Week is coming up sooner than you think!  CFW is a week where the members of IV all head up to the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan to go to a beautiful place called Cedar Campus.  Absolutely fantastic, as we border Lake Huron (I think... maybe I'm totally off). What are you doing the week before we go back to Rose?  Come and learn tips and get experience on how to be a Bible Study Leader, or one of usually 6 other tracks.  Guys live in cabins just across the frisbee/soccer/football stretch, while girls live in the lodge or in another lodging near the camp councelors.  This is a week you certainly won't regret!  The money, I guarantee, is well worth it.  You can even tke a walk up to "Narnia."  THAT'S CRAZY!

SLT:
School of Leadership Training is like CFW, only it's a month long, usually the entire month of July.  This month long program is one you certainly won't forget.  Learn how to become a leader, hear expostions from 3 different speakers, and contact evangelism (scary!).  It's easier than you'd think .  Spend time in a family group with 6-7 other people from all over the Midwest, and grow together as SLT will push you to become a greater force for God on your campus and challenge how you think and live.  If you're contemplating this, talk to our staff worker(s), Mike or Paul, as they will need to sign in order for you to go.

Friday night service (2-17-06):
This Friday around 4pm Charli will be taking a group of us to Lighthouse Missions to help out with serving supper to the homeless of Terre Haute.  I personally recommend this, as the people are all very kind, and you'll definitely be touched and have fun, too!

Leadership Applications:
Though they were due this past Thursday, we're still in need of more leaders, especially people willing to step up and take on a Leadership Team role.  If you haven't filled out an application, we still need people for pretty much everything!  Turn it in ASAP!

This site:
Anyone want to head up putting announcements on here?  I'm doing it this time, but maybe someone else would be up for managing it.  Leave a comment on gelatinemonkey's site if you're up for it!
